Creating a sense of place is a task we were set by several of our clients involved in regeneration. We delivered bespoke solutions based on function, form and the positive experience of those working in a particular location, mostly around areas in central London.
On occasion we have taken on smaller-scale projects liaising with venue staff from an early stage in their refurbishment plans so we could better understand what was required. We have often developed ideas to represent an emerging space or new build by working alongside developers, local authorities, architects, builders and interior designers to capture an authentic and dynamic outcome for a particular venue or facility.
With UEA Career Service we created the brand to establish them at the heart of the campus amongst high street retailers in a former shop space to set them up in a newly refurbished offices. The University of East Anglia campus is an iconic architectural masterpiece. We established a brand identity around interlocking broken circles and pathways that reflected the campus status as a modernist gem. We worked with the careers department heads and UEA estate management staff to establish a look and feel for the space that would place the new facility at the centre of student life and that reflected the key aspirations of the Career Service to emphasis approachability, engagement in a bright, functional space at the heart of campus.
Look Ahead Housing and Care manage different types of accommodation and care services for vulnerable adults. Their customers are young adults, men and women with learning difficulties or dependency issues that have no secure accommodation. At the heart of their building programme is an ambition to create spaces that are both functional and beautiful places to live. We were happy to reflect the results of this in a series of brochures recording the work of artists who worked with residents to develop art projects to make an intervention into residencies.
